SECONDARY CONTAINMENT BASINS

SECONDARY CONTAINMENT BASINS
ACO Container Systems, operating from Pickering, Ontario,
produces a line of polyethylene basins and steel stand “teams” for use with IBCs and tanks of all shapes. General secondary containment capacity guidelines are to have a minimum of 110% of the intended primary container – the IBC in this case. ACO manufactures a
300 imperial gallon basin for this application. Inner tank’s unique
dome interlocks with outer tank’s side wall to seal secondary
containment area from unwanted materials. Lifting lug assemblies,
designed to hold up to twice the empty tank’s weight, are standard.
ACO secondary containment basins enable compliance with current
environmental regulations and and are designed for all ACO tanks. The
secondary containment basins are available in Open-Top Outer
Containment configuration. Check with local regulatory agencies for
compliance in your area. When determining size of secondary containment
basins, always refer to factory drawings to confirm primary storage
tank size compatibility.

Chemical secondary containment basins are increasingly becoming the
standard all across Canada. Many users of chemicals and other
specialized liquids receive their products from the supplier in large
portable containers called Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) or
totes. These users now have an easy containment solution.
